Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his unique mixture of soul gospel, R&B as well as R&B. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway to the Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine was born Denise White. Though she's located in Atlanta but her origins are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue a musical career singing and playing the piano at church. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on Atlanta's R&B musical scene. The year 2005 saw Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in his stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer) approached her for an opportunity to be the director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to perform as part of the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
